The Speed of Recruiting
Attracting and retaining top talent is a major part of any company's success. The hiring landscape changes all the time with new challenges to address. One of the major issues affecting companies today is the speed of the hiring cycle. There is more competition for top talent and good employees get hired quickly. More and more, companies are identifying the ideal candidate for their open position and then losing them to another offer.
I work regularly with a client who has an onboarding process involving several steps including two interviews, job shadow, personality screening, skills testing and background check. These steps are all important in identifying employees who are a good long-term fit.
As the process is already long we worked together to identify which parts of the process could be sped up. I use a very intuitive ATS which pre-screens the most qualified applicants. Although the company also uses an ATS, HR receives the resumes directly and presents them immediately to the Hiring Manager for review.
Feedback and request for interview is generally provided within 24 hours, which by industry standards is very fast. Feedback from the interview is also within 24 hours and the personality assessment is provided at that time. By working together and establishing timelines we can shorten a three-week process down to two weeks.
In this challenging and ever-changing hiring landscape it is more important than ever to work with an established professional recruiter to streamline your onboarding and find that top talent.
